Summer Camp

Class Options

Beginner:

This class is designed for students who are new to debate. Students will learn the basics of argumentation techniques, and will finish with a higher level of comfort both speaking and engaging in switch-side advocacy.

Experienced:

Students will be introduced to the competitive events that high school speech and debate competitors compete in across the nation. They will sharpen their speaking and argumentation skills while learning Public Forum, World Schools, Congress, and Extemporaneous speaking.

After School Class

Foundations:

Foundations is designed for students who are brand new to debate. No experience necessary, just curiosity and a willingness to speak up. Students build the core skills that every great debater starts with: how to construct a clear argument, how to respond when someone disagrees with you, and how to think on your feet under pressure.

Experienced Speaking:

Experienced Speaking is built for students who know the basics of debate and are ready to elevate how they communicate. This class builds the foundation for students who want to compete in Congressional Debate, Extemporaneous Speaking, or Original Oratory at the high school level.

Experienced Debate:

Experienced Debate is our most advanced offering, designed for students who are ready to compete at the highest levels of middle school debate. Students work on full case construction, evidence analysis, advanced rebuttal strategy, and the technical depth that wins rounds at elite tournaments. Experienced Debate builds the foundation for students who want to compete in Public Forum, Lincoln Douglas, or World Schools debate at the high school level.

Our Team

  • Anthony Brown

    DIRECTOR

    Coach Brown currently serves as the Director of Speech & Debate at Southlake Carroll. He is an NSDA National Champion coach, an IPPF World Champion coach, and a TFA State Champion coach. Additionally, his PF teams have won or reached late elimination rounds at Blue Key, the New York City Invitational, UT Austin, the Harvard Round Robin, Emory, and many more. He founded Bluebonnet in 2024 and is extremely excited to oversee the growth of our Middle School program.

  • Natalie Wang

    COACH

    Natalie is a rising freshman at Stanford University. She competed in Public Forum debate at Southlake Carroll, where she is a three-time Tournament of Champions qualifier, and a 2025 finalist. She has advanced to elimination rounds and earned speaker awards at more than 30 tournaments across the country. In addition to competing, Natalie has extensive experience coaching middle school debaters. She's looking forward to teaching at Bluebonnet this year!


  • Tanvi Golla

    COACH

    Tanvi is a rising freshman at NYU. She debated in Public Forum for 4 years at Southlake Carroll. She is a 3-time TFA State and 2-time TOC qualifier, advancing to outrounds at tournaments like TOC, UT, Emory, and ASU. She loves helping underclassmen and younger debaters, and she's excited to work at Bluebonnet this year!

  • Arnav Kakarala

    COACH

    Arnav is a rising freshman at Vanderbilt University and has debated for four years. He began debate in public forum before moving to World Schools, qualifying for both TFA State, and Tournament of Champions. He has won multiple local tournaments and was a finalist at the UT Austin Longhorn Classic. Outside of Debate, he enjoys makign jokes, running, and trying new things.

We offer programs for beginner students and students with experience in Public Forum Debate in an interactive setting where students master fundamental techniques under expert guidance. Each session combines live instruction, practice, and personalized coaching from accomplished coaches who have qualified for prestigious competitions such as the Tournament of Champions, NSDA Nationals, and Texas Forensics Association State Tournament. Students develop confidence and skills through topic preparation, real-time practice, and immediate feedback, leaving each session ready to excel in competitive speech and debate.
